And this time is much more severe than severance. Not just cutting loose ties, but burning our fingers... and stone grey eyes! Are they putting out fires? Our glowing bonfires? Said by those aside. How you doing tonight? (Well we're doing alright!) How are you tonight? (Well we’re doing just fine!) And this hole’s a whole lot deep than the crevices. Tunneled longer than ellipses… Clawed deeper in my side. Than the gulls in the gulfs of the lake and the warmer rocks, That strayed too far in from the coastline Now in just one line! (Could you say that you’re fine?) Disc One first side! (Did we do it alright?)

How I wish I was clandestine like a stone! See yes cast aside, But you can't be forgotten if you've always just been alone. How the stories, how they all just seem to unfold. Like sedimentary sheets spraying nothing but doldrums across my bones.

And how my ribcage seems like a mountain range, From the perspective of your back. But how the shingles scars sit like bacteria lakes in their tracks. And on the icy pallor of my skin, Can your eyes rest and let my thawing begin.

We'll search for you in your, hole of pride. Casting shadows on the wall from the fire by your side. Won't you recognize the figures on the stone? If not the noose around their necks, then the scars between their bones. Look at the structure, of your art compared to mine: A trumpet sounding on the coast to a skin with strings in time. The infrastructure, of my heart compared to thine: Scattered all across this page, to the one that holds the binds. And we'll find you in the Coda lines; An unnecessary ending played in "a niente" time. Maestro tell the stagehands that the band has been released, Exhale the Winter from your lungs; Leave the frost for us to keep Look at the structure, of your art compared to mine! A trumpet sounding on the coast to a skin with strings in time. The infrastructure, of my heart compared to thine! Scattered all across this page, to the one that holds the binds. And we'll all live together; And we'll all live in fright; And we'll all live in stone brick homes, in a long and quiet life. And these songs they play as I stand here On your front porch tonight. With head held high and heart held low My face feigns respite. And I'll press my wrists together And between them you'll place a knife. If you press too hard just left or right you'll leave me bleeding out through the night. As I fall from my conscious to the hardwood, And I stare up at the light. As my blood drains down but soul takes flight I know my son he's out of sight. So don't bless me with a son but a daughter. I'll tell you the choice its not harder -- He'll show him wrong, I'll teach him right You know he'll never be like his Father. But I'm not better off with a daughter, Just like the rest, she'll treat me like a beggar. But I'll hold that hand and hold it tight Just to lose her to another.
